Why isn't the movie demo for StoryBoard Quick playing?
The movie demos require Flash. If your browser (usually IE 64bit) has trouble with Flash, use a different browser or view our StoryBoard Quick movie demo on YouTube instead.

I bought my storyboarding software for Mac or Windows, but now I want to switch over to a different operating system. Do I have to buy a new copy?
We offer the opportunity to “crossgrade” your software so you can change to your new operating system. Just email our Sales Team to start your switch.

How do I move my copy of StoryBoard Quick or Quick Studio to a new computer?
To move your software and preserve your authorization(s), first follow the Deauthorization Instructions to deauthorize your software from your old computer. After following those steps, and our servers have been updated, you will be able to install and authorize StoryBoard Quick on your new computer.

Where do I find my Authorization Code?
Your Authorization Code will be generated from our website when you click Register Online, or can be given to you over the phone when you click the “No Internet” button. Go to the Help Desk for step-by-step instructions with pictures. You must fill out the form online to receive your authorization dode. The authorization dode is computer-specific, so you must register and get a new authorization dode for each computer.

Why is my Windows Vista or Windows 7 copy of my storyboarding software making me to register every time I launch the software?

Why is my Mac OS X continue to ask me to register?
When authorizing, be sure that you have Admin priviledges. To check if you are an Adminstrator, open System Preferences > Accounts, and see if you are specified as an Admin.
If you are an Administrator but are still experiencing difficulties, you must change your preferences. Open your Mac HD > Library > Preferences. Go to File menu > Get Info and check that your Preferences folder has permissions for the admin to Read & Write. If not, at the bottom right corner, click the lock icon to unlock your options. You must provide your Adminstrator password to unlock your preferences. After unlocking, change the permission for admin to Read & Write. Click the lock icon and close the Preferences Info window. Now, retry authorizing your software.

I'm having difficulty authorizing and using StoryBoard Quick or StoryBoard Quick Studio on my new Mac OS X Lion (10.7) system. What do I do?

When I try to register online and get my authorization code, I'm getting a message that says that my copy is already installed. What do I do?
First, be sure that you have entered your serial number correctly. Your serial number must be typed with the exact spacing with dashes and capitalizations as seen on your emailed receipt or CD case.
If your serial number is correct and you are still experiencing this error, then you have used all of your available Authorizations. If you need to move your license to another machine, see the instructions here.

When I click try to Save my Authorization of my storyboarding software, I get a dialog box that says I have a Registration Code mismatch. What do I do?

Each computer requires a unique authorization code. If the authorization code you are using is from a previous machine, you will need to put your serial number in the first (top) field and click Register Online. Fill in the information to receive a new authorization code.

I upgraded from StoryBoard Quick to StoryBoard Quick Studio, so is serial number for my new software the same?
No. When you upgrade to StoryBoard Quick Studio, your old serial number is no longer valid. Use your new serial number to complete the registration process, which you will find in the emailed receipt from your purchase of the StoryBoard Quick Studio Upgrade.

Where is my serial number for my newly purchased Add-On Libraries?
Use your same serial number to authorize your Add-On Libraries. Go to the Help Menu > License Manager to authorize your new libraries and receive your new authorization code.

Why is my new software purchase only downloading a PDF file?
You will receive a PDF download if you purchased a shipped copy of the software or a download of an upgrade. The webpage with the download has your serial number (if applicable): please save this serial number in your records. The PDF download includes important information about your shipment/upgrade.
If you have purchased a shipped copy, you will receive your shipment by UPS or another specified courier according to your shipment specifications. If you have purchased an upgrade, you will receive an email with download instructions as soon as our Sales Team has verified your serial number of the original software required for the upgrade.

Where can I re-download my old copy of StoryBoard Quick?
We no longer host installers for older versions. If you did not backup your installer files for older versions, go to the current StoryBoard Quick cart page or contact the Sales Team to purchase a discounted upgrade to the current version.

I'm missing some of my Libraries?
Check the Window Menu > Palettes. Checkmarks appear next to the Palettes that are active and open. If there is no checkmark, click on the Palette to open it in your interface.
If you don't see your library listed in the Palettes Menu, On the Mac, go to the Finder or in Windows launch Explorer and open your StoryBoard Quick folder > Libraries Folder. Check to see if the missing library is in the Libraries folder. If the library file is there, make sure the application file (StoryBoard Quick 6 application file or Quick6.exe file) is in the StoryBoard Quick folder where it can properly access its Libraries.

What do I do if my Mac version says it "does not work with this architecture"?
This error means that your installation may not have finished properly. Open the StoryBoard Quick folder in your Applications folder and double-click the file called zippedintel.zip. This will decompress a fresh copy of the application file. Use this new StoryBoard Quick application file instead.

My hard drive crashed! How can I get a replacement copy of my storyboarding software?
You may be able to reinstall and reauthorize from your backup without any issue. If not, email the Install Team for further help. If you've used up all of your authorizations, contact the Sales Team to purchase more authorizations.

Hardware key not found error, hardware key error 14, or other key errors.
Most errors from Artist hardware keys can be solved by updating or reinstalling the hardware key support driver software. Download and install the latest drivers for your hardware key for Mac or for Windows.

How do I remove the background color of a text box?
Select the text box you want to change, then go to the Color Palette and open the Tab with a paint bucket icon. Set the Opacity to 0% by double-clicking the opacity sample box.

How can I find the User Guide?
You can access the User Guide by launching StoryBoard Quick or StoryBoard Artist. Open the Help Menu and select "StoryBoard Quick Help" or "StoryBoard Artist Help." The User Guide is a PDF file; you may need to install Adoble Reader to view the manual.

How can I watch video tutorials?

How can I add more content?
Add content with our specially-formatted, Add-On Libraries and Library Suites, which you can purchase to add Characters, Props, and Locations to your software. Check out the Add-On Libraries here.
You can also drag and drop your own images right into the frame! StoryBoard Quick and Artist support most file formats, whether you are importing a photograph or an image from the web. Simply drag your image file and drop it into the Frame Window, or open the File Menu and select "Import Image" (this will open a dialog where you can select a picture from your computer to import.

How do I email my storyboards?
There are two ways to email your storyboards:
On Windows, install a PDF printer driver, then go to the File Menu and select "Print." From the Print dialog box, select your Print-to-PDF software from the Printer Name dropdown menu. Attach your PDF file to your email and send!
On Mac, then go to the File Menu and select "Print." From the Print dialog box, select PDF menu > Mail PDF. This will automatically open your Mac email. Enter the email address and send!
You can also export your project to view in an internet browser. To do this go to the File Menu and select "Export to HTML" or "Export to Website." Select your project folder on your desktop and press Export. When the export is complete, minimize your storyboarding software and right-click on the project folder on your desktop. From the right-click menu, select the option to compress the folder (to create a ZIP file). Attach your ZIP file to your email and send!

How do I import my Movie Magic Screenwriter script?
