RIP Steve Jobs

October 5, 2011 - Visual Storytelling

Steve Jobs (and his “Apple”) have been an integral part of PowerProduction Software over the years. All of us at PowerProduction will miss his driving creativity, as will the rest of the world.

Our company made a decision in 1998 to move from LA to Silicon Valley simply because we flew up to meet with Apple “evangelists” so often.  I never had the privilege of meeting him personally, however, thru 6 degrees of separation, I felt that I knew him.

Before starting PowerProduction, I worked for the advertising agency that was responsible for the 1984 Macintosh introduction commercial.  Steve Jobs worked closely with my then boss, Lee Clow, who was the other genius behind that 1984 Apple Macintosh commercial.

Our first software products were created for the Macintosh since we knew (from working in the film industry) that a majority of the “creatives” were Macintosh loyalist.  We watched Apple go thru hard times and various CEO’s but always developed for the Macintosh because we loved the creative feel…which has always been apart of Apple products because Steve Jobs respected and embraced creativity.

He will be missed.  Our condolences to his family and our friends at Apple.
